The Slippery Slope Has Become A Downhill Slalom

When President Trump said: “I wonder, is it George Washington next week?”  after protesters sought to remove the Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Va, critics responded by saying that Trump was being ridiculous and over reacted. Watch the video here. He added: “You are changing history and you are changing culture”

When people said that NFL players should stand for the National Anthem—that there were many other ways to protest— critics responded— that the players had the right to kneel during  the National Anthem, the one thing that that unites us. You are literally kneeling in protest of the one thing that gives you the right to protest.

Now the California NAACP is pushing to get rid of the National Anthem that they’re calling racist and anti-black. “This song is wrong; it shouldn’t have been there, we didn’t have it ’til 1931, so it won’t kill us if it goes away,” said the organization’s president Alice Huffman.

Our history is no doubt filled with mistakes and injustice, but it also what has brought us here —arguably the greatest country in the world. Of course not everyone feels the same way.  That is one of the hallmarks of our freedom. Today we seem so capable of relinquishing this very idea in the name of not offending others.

No one is perfect— not you— nor I— nor anyone holding or aspiring to hold political office. Therefore no country is perfect, after-all a country is made up of its people. This was recognized by the founders themselves and what made the constitution a remarkable document. It allows us to keep arguing, debating, protesting and challenging ourselves.

Make no mistake while many of those opposing statues, anthems and other parts of American history know little if anything about our true history— many others seek to eliminate the constitution all together. And why not? After-all it was written by racist slave owners they argue. What they want to replace it with remains unknown.

Although many of the founding Fathers continued to own slaves others recognized its evil. Ultimately it was only a matter of time before those holding slaves recognized the contradiction. Read: How to Understand Slavery and the American Founding

Is there a need to replace the constitution ? Frederick Douglass, for one, believed that the government created by the Constitution “was never, in its essence, anything but an anti-slavery government.” Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland but escaped and eventually became a prominent spokesman for free blacks in the abolitionist movement. “Abolish slavery tomorrow, and not a sentence or syllable of the Constitution need be altered,” he wrote in 1864.

To ignore our history, as flawed as it is, will eventually lead to loss of the freedom we have to keep progressing forward.

The American experiment was unique and improbable in 1776, when Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration of Independence and the American colonies defied Britain, the most powerful nation on earth at the time. As we look around the world at how difficult it is for democracy and freedom to take hold and flourish, America seems like a political miracle. Continue reading….

The Racist In Chief Is At It Again

First it was Dr. Ben Carson for Housing and Urban Development Director— now this….

Dr. Jerome Adams confirmed as surgeon general

“To be confirmed as the 20th US Surgeon General is truly an indescribable honor,” Adams tweeted Thursday. Adams is an anesthesiologist who previously served as the Indiana state health commissioner — “in essence the Surgeon General for Indiana,” he said in a statement to the Senate committee.

How The Texas Church Shooter Got A Gun

It was already illegal for the Texas gunman to purchase a gun so what happened?

Some will say imagine if the shooter couldn’t get a gun. But imagine if the shooters–shooter, a former NRA instructor, didn’t have a gun or was not nearby. How many more would have been killed and injured. Criminals will not follow the laws

Ironically the shooters— shooter was a former NRA instructor. Read why he doesn’t feel he is a hero

Harvey Weinstein To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

You don’t need the Harvey Weinstein scandal to know that Hollywood is the world’s capital of do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do hypocrisy.  You only need to be breathing.

Rumors are swirling that Hollywood titan and self proclaimed feminist , Harvey Weinstein, who takes advantage of pretty women seeking to work in Hollywood will receive the Motion Picture Lifetime Achievement Award. Ashley Judd is speculated to be the presenter.

Judd, or as she likes to refer to herself —Nasty Woman —went to have a breakfast meeting with Weinstein at the Beverly Hills Peninsula Hotel and when she arrived found Harvey wanted to have said meeting in his room. What could that possibly mean?  Well, almost anybody could answer that in a moment.  Did she do the sensible thing and say she preferred the hotel’s lovely dining room?  Clearly not. She went upstairs.  Her career obviously Trumped her values.

Actress and left-wing activist Ashley Judd called the “tragedy” of Donald Trump’s election victory far worse than an experience from her childhood in which she was raped. “It remains for me the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my lifetime,” Judd said of Trump’s successful election. “Raped as a child – bad. Re-raped by a political system that ordains a clown – really bad.”

I am wondering how it compared to being propositioned by Weinstein ?

“Fire and Fury” You Will Never Guess Who Else Said It

President Trumps critics have complained that his use of such strong language in response to North Korea’s threat of nuclear attack on the United States is unbecoming the Presidency. Critics have been so vocal of Trumps language that you hardly know the United States of America has been threatened by a Mad Man.  The leader of a brutal regime that has been coddled for far too long.

But are Trumps words really unprecedented ? It would seem not. In fact after listening to President Truman’s remarks one might wonder if Trump is not guilty of plagiarism.

How Important Am I … Can You Give Me An Hour ?

When I say what Stevie said in this interview most people laugh at me. While I completely embrace today’s new technologies I find texting, calling and using your “smartphone” when visiting with someone to be one of the rudest things you can do. In essence what you are saying is” — look I am here with you but you aren’t that important to have my full attention so I brought someone else with me.

Let us know what you think how do you feel when you are spending time with someone and all they do is text and look at their phone?

Brownies Are Not Only Fattening They Might Land You In Jail

Police were recently called in after a 9 year old boy said he wanted a “Brownie” for desert.

While I am not quite sure how saying the word “Brownie ” is offensive.

After all what are we going to call these?

Or these ?

— Free speech— something we still enjoy legally (for now) in the United States— is about protecting our right TO offend.

Limiting speech is all good until— its not so good. Once someone decides a particular word should NOT be said because it is offensive its only a matter of time before— as you can see here— ridiculous.

How The West Will Win

“The prerequisite for the success of Western civilization is not material riches. Economic prosperity and military might on their own are not sufficient. The critical leaven is the confidence in core Western values, such things as free speech, the equality of women, respect for individual rights, the rule of law, the affirmation of faith and family. Hence, the fundamental question facing Western nations today is whether the people continue to nurture the cultural self-confidence in those fundamental values. If they do, the West is unbeatable. If those values dissipate, the West is lost. As long as we know our history,” Trump said, “We will know how to build our future.”

Happy 4th What A Kick In The Ass

Talk about a Kick In The Ass

This is what the United States has become.  Sadly most of these people probably do not even know what the 4th of July is all about. For many its just another day off. (Hopefully paid)

Despite the fact that it could have been their death sentence, on July 4th 1776, members of the Continental Congress signed a document that would forever change the world.

By establishing a place that recognized mans individual liberty and dignity, the United States would emerge and become a refuge for millions of people from all over the world seeking to free themselves from the overbearing and oppressive governments that ruled their native countries.

Today, most protest for more and more collectivist solutions in an effort to solve their ill’s, all to eager to surrender their individual liberty to a government more oppressive than the one our founders fought

That is the Real Kick In The Ass
